Ever Wonder What DFM Stands For?

We have been asked many times, what does DFM stand for? In 1961, three guys, David, Fritz and Mac, were working for Ford Motors (at that time located in our building). The mechanics went on strike. When the strike was over, they had already decided to start a shop of their own. The first DFM was located across from Ukiah Grange. The year was 1962.

Six months later, the Ford dealer moved to its current location, leaving our building empty. DFM moved in. In 1977, Marlin, the current owner, came to work at DFM as a mechanic. In 1983, David, Fritz and Mac retired and sold the business to Marlin and Bonnie.
